Winter Poem

A silent winter night of cotton ice. These are the nights I feel the most, and yet words fail me. Time and again my heart screams to release her thoughts from behind barred doors; doors sealed by fear and self-ridicule. But on nights such as this the battering ram swings and shatters the gate. My heart is free for a time... what shall she divulge unto the listening sky? Words of love? Of hope or dreams? Nay. No tongue can fully express; no language can translate the thoughts of the heart. Is there none who can understand?? Aye, there is One. A solitary One who can see her heart and knows it intimately. He is Christ. ~LD

To Love
